We re-invigorated the fresh soup market by expanding our successful New York Soup Co range to include Skinny and Fully Loaded varieties. This was a direct result of focused market research and has led to a loyal customer following, a market share gain in 2012 and an incremental increase in the overall value of the soup market.

Our Creative Food business has invested in a new manufacturing facility in Xiamen (China) to meet the high demand experienced by one of our key customers for fresh prepared foods in the Chinese foodservice market. This business opportunity occurred as a direct result of the strong relationship we have forged with our customer, our proven track record of supporting their strategic growth plans and our commitment to high-quality products and standards.

Two Chefs (USA), Isleport Foods (UK) and Creative Food (China) all received supplier awards from their customers in recognition of their service and partnership approach. In addition, and testament to our product quality and innovation, we received 11 food product awards in 2012.

Our determination to provide a safe environment in which to work continues to improve with our health and safety performance remaining ahead of the latest food and drink industry benchmark.

Delivering sustainable long-term growth through capital investment and a continued focus on efficiency

STRATEGY IN ACTION 2012
We officially opened a dedicated facility for handling nuts, sesame and nut oils in April 2012. This facility at Caledonian Produce is the only one of its kind in the UK and has enabled us to meet the high demand for recipes containing these ingredients, improve our manufacturing efficiency and release capacity at the adjacent site for other growth projects.
